Taste of Island Life

My days aren't perfect ... but they sure are peaceful. ~ Dr. A

North Carolina has been my home, my entire life; 50 years. Even when I moved to Atlanta, NC was still home. I have lived in amazing places, experienced amazing things and enjoyed the blessings and favor only my Abba Father could provide; yet none of those experiences compare to the beauty of what I embrace now. The beautiful Outer Banks of North Carolina - the best relocation decision of my life.

Things are different on the island. Life is slower, less stressed. Trash pick-up is around 3 am. Life is simple. Period. The ocean waves are soothing most days; until the ocean reacts to the winds and storms which frequent the island. Nonetheless, the worst day at OBX is still a great day. Listening to the ocean before going to bed, waking up to the sound of the waves crashing ashore or calmly grazing the shoreline is a dream come true. It is BEAUTIFUL here.

The shells, oh the shells. How I love shelling. On beautiful, sunny days my dog & I spend hours on the beach, then before I realize it, I have tons of shells.

Some things are not available, yet you can find what you need. The department stores are limited but there are plenty of grocery stores, convenience stores, great restaurants, and unique shops. A few of my favorites are Biscuits N Porn (for the chicken biscuits, and the regular fried chicken - it is the best I have found on the island), 3 Tequilas, Stop N Shop, Black Pelican, and the 7 Eleven on Kitty Hawk Road; Gulfstream Gifts, Dunkin Donuts for donut holes, The French Door and countless others are favorites also. There are so many little places to explore. My #AngelDog and I are certainly making our rounds. I love the beautiful parks, trails and Jockeys Ridge. Even the rest stop in Kitty Hawk is a lovely respite for just a few minutes to gather your thoughts and learn of the island's history.

It's the beach; beach life is different. The air is cleaner - from beautiful sunrises, tourists, locals, amazing sunsets, phenomenal moonlit nights dancing with purple and blue hues, foggy days to amazingly new experiences; people walking their dogs regularly, stargazed evenings overlooking the ocean and the Sound and just an opportunity to absorb all that Abba Father has created, for as far as the eye can see. It's a different world, a place nestled away on its own, captivating and stunning at best.

OBX is where's it at. It's a whole new world within the world, the vibe is different in the 2Five2... an incomparable uniqueness with few disturbances. Of course, people still have their issues, they still have life circumstances, but the vibe is chill, no drama, no chaos - just simplistic living in an upscale, secluded place of the world - right here in North Carolina.

I can breathe. I can relax. Life is simple. Period. When the clock strikes 4:30, I can go home to my front yard, the beach.

Rebuilding is underway... my spare time is spent on writing, business projects, connecting and networking, creating memories, establishing business and ministry, expanding, developing, creating strategies, and launching ... and LOTS of time at the beach. :)

Just beautiful. Just simple. Just OBX. Just island. Just right.

I invite you into my space here as I journey and create new and remarkable moments right here on this island.
